Why this site publishes no user reviews — and what it publishes instead

The brief for a comparison site usually includes “user reviews” and “reputation”. We do not publish either, and this page is the explanation rather than an omission you have to notice.

What we can verify instead

Reputation in this category is usually a proxy for something buyers cannot see. But there is a real, checkable signal that most comparison sites ignore: how much a brand is willing to tell you. A manufacturer that publishes its cycle life, chemistry, solar input ceiling and warranty length is easier to hold to account than one that publishes a capacity figure and a photograph.

Everything in the table below is computed from the same evidence-backed dataset used everywhere else on this site. Each figure is a count of facts the brand itself published, so it cannot be wrong in the way an opinion can be wrong — only the reading of it is our judgement, and that is labelled as such.

Specification disclosure by brand

Across 76 models. “Fields published” is the average number of the 19 canonical fields a brand states per model, so a higher number means more of its line-up is genuinely comparable.

“Median warranty” only averages brands that state a warranty at all; the “stated” column shows how many models actually do. DJI’s price column is 0% because its storefront blocks our collector, not because it hides its prices.

If you want other buyers’ opinions — and you should, alongside the specs — the manufacturer’s own product pages are where the verified-purchase reviews live. We link to each brand’s storefront rather than reproducing ratings we cannot audit:

When reading reviews anywhere, weight the specific over the general: a reviewer describing how a unit behaved running a fridge through a two-day outage is worth more than a star rating, and a rating from someone who bought the wrong capacity band tells you about their research, not the product.
